These terms cover your use of Legacy Lifestyles. They are written to be read, not to be survived. If something here is unclear, that is our failure and we would like to hear about it.
Legacy Lifestyles is a life-story archive with a growth practice attached. You capture memories, writing, photographs, voice, video, and the service organizes them into chapters, prompts you for what is missing, and holds the result for the people you choose to leave it to.
It is not a will, a trust, an insurance policy, medical advice, or financial advice. It records your wishes; it does not execute them. Where money or legal effect is involved, you still need the professionals who do that for a living.
You need an account to use anything beyond the demo. You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in method. We cannot recover an archive for someone who cannot prove the account is theirs.
You must be 13 or older to hold your own account. Between 13 and 18, a parent or guardian must be named on the account. Under 13, an account may only be created and operated by a guardian, and we ask for their email during signup.
Everything you put in is yours. You keep all rights to your memories, photographs, recordings and writing. We do not sell it, license it, use it to train anyone's model, or show it to another user without your instruction.
You grant us only the narrow permission needed to run the service for you: to store your content, display it back to you and the people you have invited, generate the prompts and summaries you asked for, and hand it to the executors you designated when the conditions you set are met. That permission ends when you delete your account, except where a copy is already in a backup awaiting its normal expiry.
Some of what this service can do, animating your likeness, cloning your voice, letting an avatar speak words you never said, cannot be undone after you are gone, and cannot be agreed to by anyone else on your behalf.
So those permissions are separate, explicit, granted only by you, and only while you are living. An executor can release what you already consented to. An executor can never grant new consent, no matter how much the family would like the recording. This is a deliberate limit and we will not remove it on request.
You can withdraw any consent at any time in Account → Privacy & consent. Withdrawal stops future use; it cannot retrieve something already shared.
Prompts, summaries, chapter-gap suggestions and narrative drafts are generated by a language model reading the content in your own archive. They are drafts. They can be wrong, can misread a tone, and can state something about your life that never happened. Nothing generated is published anywhere or filed into your archive without you accepting it.
AI use is metered per account. Heavy use may be rate-limited or paused when the monthly ceiling is reached; the rest of the service keeps working.
When you invite someone to a circle, you decide their role. Contributors submit; you approve. Nothing another person writes enters your archive until you accept it.
What you share into someone else's archive becomes part of their story, and is governed by their choices about that archive, not yours. Do not contribute anything you would need to be able to withdraw.
The service is designed so that a funded archive continues after your death rather than lapsing when a card stops working. Where a linked micro-policy is in place, its proceeds are intended to fund continued hosting.
We will be plain about the limits: no company can promise "forever" with a straight face. Our commitment is that if the service is ever wound down, every account holder and designated executor is given no less than twelve months' notice and a complete export of everything, in open formats, at no cost.
Paid plans renew until cancelled. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you paid for. We do not delete an archive for non-payment. An unpaid account becomes read-only and exportable rather than erased.
Upload someone else's private material without their agreement. Impersonate a real person, living or dead. Use the memorial or avatar features to produce something intended to deceive people about what a person said or believed. Attempt to reach another user's archive.
You can delete your account from Account → Delete my account. It is irreversible and it cascades: memories, files, circles, the legacy plan and the vault. Export first if you want a copy.
We may suspend an account that is being used to harm someone. We will tell you why.
The service is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited by law.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States.
If we change these terms in a way that materially affects you, you will be told inside the app before the change takes effect, not by a silent edit to this page.
